About Us

Shaping Europe’s mission is to empower young Europeans, amplifying their voices and providing a platform to actively contribute to the future of Europe. Our work primarily involves writing informative articles that are shared on our website, as well as in person activities such as workshops. 

Shaping Europe was founded in 2020, and is registered as a non-profit organisation in the Netherlands. Our operations are driven entirely by a passionate team of volunteers, currently numbering thirteen dedicated individuals.

Role Overview

As the Events and Activities Coordinator, you will take the lead in conceptualising, planning, and executing events that align with our strategic objectives. Initially, this will involve organizing events centered around the European Elections in June 2024. Think of debates, roundtables, and workshops. Your role will play a key part in making the importance of the European elections known to a broader audience.

As the Events and Activities Coordinator, you will also hold a position on Shaping Europe’s board. This dual role not only encompasses all aspects of event management but also grants you the opportunity to contribute insights to the organisation’s broader strategic goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive events strategy centred around the 2024 European elections.
• Design and coordinate diverse events, workshops, seminars, and interactive sessions.
• Collaborate with internal teams, and develop relationships with external partners to ensure seamless event execution.
• Drive participation and attendee engagement
• Monitor event effectiveness and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Passion for our mission and a deep interest in European issues.
• Proven experience in planning and executing successful events or activities.
• Strong organizational skills and an attention to detail.
• Creative thinker with a knack for designing impactful event experiences.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

While most of our work is done remotely, we find it important to come together in person regularly to brainstorm, get to know each other, and have fun! We find it important that all of Shaping Europe volunteers can attend these gatherings, and therefore we will only consider applicants that are based in the Netherlands.

Availability required is about five hours per week.
