Shaping Europe Live: The European Elections

On 26 May, Shaping Europe organised an event around the 2024 European Parliamentary elections in collaboration with De Grote Podcastlas and Gijs Verhoeff.

The European elections are right around the corner, and it is therefore high time for a Shaping Europe event! Sunday afternoon, the 26^th of May, we are very excited to welcome you in the city centre of Utrecht for a highly engaging programme around the theme ‘Europe’. The event will be kicked off by Gijs Verhoeff, who will give a keynote on European media.  Afterwards you can fight together with your team for the win in the pubquiz, meet new people, and engage in interesting conversations while enjoying a drink at the bar. You can come in from 14.30 onwards, and the programme itself will start at 15.00. The expected end time is around 17.30.

The pubquiz will be hosted by no one else than Hugo Noordman, one of the producers of the popular podcast De Grote Podcastlas! Under the guidance of this quizmaster, the teams test their knowledge on a wide variety of topics, and we find out who will be the big winner. So, invite all your friends, family members, roommates and acquaintances, because full is full! Of course, there is a lot of opportunity for further discussions, or simply grabbing another drink, after the pubquiz is over.

 

Europa Festival Utrecht

On 31 May 2024, Shaping Europe attended the Festival Europa.

On the 31st of May, Neude library in the city centre of Utrecht will transform into a true festival venue, with one central topic: EUROPE! Taking place one week prior to the European elections, this day is one of the biggest events on the theme across the country. With a highly diverse and high-quality program, there are a lot of opportunities to celebrate, debate, and critically reflect upon Europe.  If this sounds familiar, that may be because this is exactly what Shaping Europe aims for as well. Therefore, we are very excited to announce that we will be present at this festival with our own Shaping Europe-stand.

This festival is about debate, art, music, film, workshops, and much more. The line-up includes prominent speakers and artists including De Kiesmannen, Sander Schimmelpenninck, Saman Amini, Lise Witteman, and Blaudzun. Moreover, Shaping Europe will organize a fun activity, although… also do make sure that you have your factual knowledge up to date ;). Still not convinced enough? Registration is free of charge!
